Desktop Background Free Download Biography
The desktop is the primary user interface of a computer. When you boot up your computer, the desktop is displayed once the startup process is complete. It includes the desktop background (or wallpaper) and icons of files and folders you may have saved to the desktop. In Windows, the desktop includes a task bar, which is located at the bottom of the screen by default. In Mac OS X, the desktop includes a menu bar at the top of the screen and the Dock at the bottom.
The desktop is visible on both Windows and Macintosh computers as long as an application or window is not filling up the entire screen. You can drag items to and from the desktop, just like a folder. Since the desktop is always present, items on the desktop can be accessed quickly, rather than requiring you to navigate through several directories. Therefore, it may be helpful to store commonly used files, folders, and application shortcuts on your desktop.

Picture Wallpapers

Picture Wallpapers Biography
On a computer that is provided with a desktop kind of user interface, wallpaper is the background pattern or picture against which desktop menus, icons, and other elements are displayed and moved around. A wallpaper image can be in a JPEG or a GIF file format. Wallpaper is commonly used in Microsoft Windows, Macintosh Mac OS, Linux, and in other operating systems as well. Each operating system provides several pre-installed wallpaper images for the user to choose from. A user can also choose to download and install third-party wallpapers and use one of these instead.
Typically, a wallpaper image may be centered, stretched, or tiled. When an image is centered, it is placed in the middle of the desktop and is surrounded by a solid color. When an image is stretched, it is stretched to cover all of the desktop. Only certain images can be stretched or they look distorted. An image that is tiled is placed on the desktop much like tiles are placed in a shower or a tiled floor. Tiling is commonly used for patterns instead of photos because a pattern is one square image that repeats itself across and down the screen, effectively forming a single image.

Taj Mahal Agra India

Taj Mahal Agra India Biography
The Taj Mahal is the mausoleum - mosque, situated in Agra, India, on the banks of the river Yamuna (architects, probably, are Ustad Isa etc). The Taj Mahal was constructed on the behest of the Great Mughal ruler Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, who died during delivery (in labor - later, even Shah Jahan was also buried next to his wife). The two tombs of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal are present inside the mausoleum. Actually, the burial place is in the same place, where the tombs stand, but under the ground. The construction period is somewhere between 1630-1652. The Taj Mahal is a five-domed structure with a height of 74m on a platform, with 4 minarets on the corners (they are slightly inclined sideways so that in case of destruction, they do not damage the tomb) and a garden with fountains and a pool adjoins the Taj Mahal . The walls are laid from polished translucent marble (brought for the construction from 300 km away) with incrustation from semi-precious stones. Turquoise, agate, malachite and cornelian etc have been used. More than 20000 workers from all ends of the kingdom were invited to construct the complex. Another similar building was planned on the other bank of the river but it was not constructed. The mausoleum has numerous symbols, concealed in its architecture and layout. So, for example, a citation from the Quran is carved on the gates, through which, the Taj Mahal visitors enter the park complex surrounding the mausoleum. The citation is meant for the Saints and concludes with the words “Enter into my Paradise”. By considering the fact that the words “Paradise” and “Garden” are written similarly in the language of the Moguls during that period, one can understand the intentions of Shah Jahan - the construction of paradise and the premises within the limits of the structure for his beloved. The Taj Mahal was constructed by shah Jahan (1628-1658) in honor of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died during delivery. According to legend, Shah Jahan ordered to embalm her body and sat at it in a field camp for months together and coming out, he grew decrepit and lost interest in human life. Within two years, he ordered to start the construction of the mausoleum that it is worthy to bury the remains of his beloved wife. Shah Jahan gave orders to construct a similar mausoleum made from black marble for himself just opposite the Taj Mahal. Builders could hardly deliver the first blocks of black marble; one of the elder sons of the inconsolable Shah Jahan overthrew his father from the throne. Shah Jahan requested just one thing - the Taj Mahal should be visible from the place of imprisonment. Shah Jahan spent his final days in a lonely tower, which is just two kilometers away from the mausoleum built by him and looking at it from a small window. When his eyesight deteriorated, a huge emerald was embedded in the wall, opposite to the window so that the snow-white tomb of his beloved Mumtaz Mahal was reflected in the huge emerald. The Taj Mahal was constructed in the Mogul style - a blend of traditions from India and Persian and Islamic architecture. Four basic elements form the complex: the gate, garden, mosque and the mausoleum itself. Construction began in 1632 and continued for 15 years and more than 20000 workers participated in the construction. The main material for the construction of the mausoleum was white Jodhpur marble, which was brought to the construction site from 300 km away. The surface of white marble was inlaid with precious and semiprecious stones and black marble was used for design. In 1983, the mausoleum Taj Mahal was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Annually, thousands of tourists visit the mausoleum. And the Jubilee celebrations, starting this week and continuing for the entire year should bring considerable income from the tourist department of India. However, the Supreme Court ordered to stop the large-scale activities in the immediate proximity of the Taj Mahal, says the BBC.
